Microsalad Basket!

It was a pretty gorgeous balmy night here tonight so me and my millie (6) decided to pop down to the Mount Maunganui Gourmet Food Market. Aside from having a few nice mussells and chewing the fat with lots of local foodies, I found these microsalad baskets.

Micro greens are edible plants that originate from the seeds of herbs, vegetables and other plants.  They offer concentrated vitamins, nutrients and proteins packed into tiny  beautiful little leaves. The combination of high nutritional value, beautiful appearance and bold flavors make micro greens pretty cool in my book.

SO the usual suspects are fiji pea feather sprouts, cress,
parsley,coriander,beetroot, mustard greens and basil.

This little basket should last about six weeks being trimmed every now and then, after which time you resow and start again! Nice look in the kitchen.
